Opis
Ratusz w Sandomierzu
The City Hall in Sandomierz
The beautiful Sandomierz City Hall is located in the central part of the Market Square. The first city hall was erected here after the Lithuanian invasion in 1349.
In the 16th century the City Hall
was extended. A high octagonal tower was added in the 17th
century. On the southern wall of the Sandomierz City Hall is a
sundial made by Tadeusz Przypkowski, former owner of the clock museum
in Jędrzejów. On the eastern side in front of the City Hall
there is a statue of Our Lady Immaculate from 1776, set up to
commemorate the Holy Mission of 1770. The City Hall is located
a branch of the District Museum, the Registry Office and in basement
club the "Lapidarium". At 12.00 from the tower of the
City Hall in Sandomierz you can hear the Sandomierz bugle call.
