Sopotnia Wielka
Opis
Wodospad w Sopotni Wielkiej
W Sopotni
Wielkiej, leżącej
pomiędzy Jeleśnią
i Korbielowem,
w Beskidzie
Sopotnia Wielka.
Wodospad w Sopotni Wielkiej to najwyższa kaskada w Beskidach.
The Waterfall in the Great Sopotnia
In
the Great Sopotnia located between Jeleśnia and Korbielów in
Beskid Żywiecki you can admire a beautiful waterfall that descends
in a wide cascade down on the stream with the same name as the city -
Great Sopotnia.
The waterfall in the Great Sopotnia is the highest cascade in Beskidy Mountains.
Its height is about 10 m, it is slightly put forward, almost under the bridge itself.
There are many rock steps with waterfalls on the stream.
In order to fully appreciate the advantages of this beautiful place, you have to go down the boulders to the foot of the waterfall, along a rocky slope made of sandstone.
Going down you have to be careful because at the waterfall's threshold the water has broken a 5-meter deep evacuation boiler in which there are strong water whirls.
The waterfall in the Great Sopotnia is a natural monument, and the steep banks of the stream are covered with natural oak-hornbeam forests.
