Babia
Góra (1725
m n.p.m.) inaczej Diablak jest najwyższym szczytem Beskidu
Żywieckiego i
całych polskich Beskidów,
często
nazywana jest Królową
Beskidów.
O wyjątkowości Babiej Góry decyduje m.in. krajobraz alpejski z kosodrzewinami i gołoborzami, a także bogactwo przyrody.
Wybierając się na Babią Górę trzeba się odpowiednio przygotować, zabezpieczyć przed chłodem, deszczem, zaopatrzyć się w odpowiednie obuwie.
To jeden z najchętniej odwiedzanych szczytów w Małopolsce.
Ze względu na cenną przyrodę i unikatowość całego masywu Babiej Góry, od 1955 roku pasmo chronione jest poprzez Babiogórski Park Narodowy, w 1997 roku zyskał status Rezerwatu Biosfery UNESCO.
Na Babią Górę prowadzą następujące szlaki:

Szlak zielony, z Zawoi Markowej do schroniska PTTK Markowe
Szczawiny, około
1,5 godziny.

Czerwony Główny Szlak Beskidzki, z Markowych Szczawin
(schronisko PTTK) na szczyt Babiej - Diablak poprzez Przełęcz
Brona (1408
m n.p.m.), około 2 godziny.

Szlak żółty, z Markowych Szczawin (schronisko PTTK) - tzw. Perć
Akademików na Diablak - najtrudniejszy szlak, zaleca się ruch tylko
w górę, a powrót inną trasą.

Szlak czerwony, z Przełęczy Krowiarki na Diablak poprzez Sokolicę
(1367 m n.p.m.), Kępę (1521 m n.p.m.).
The Mount Babia
The
Mount Babia (1725 m) or
Diablak is the highest peak of the
Żywiec Beskids
and the entire Polish Beskid Mountains, often called the Queen of the
Beskid Mountains.
The uniqueness of the Mount Babia is determined by the alpine landscape with dwarf pines and mountain pastures and also a wealth of wildlife.
When going to the Mount Babia you need to be properly prepared, protect yourself from the cold, rain, and get appropriate footwear.
It’s one of the most frequently visited peaks in Małopolska.
Due to the precious nature and uniqueness of the entire massif of Mount Babia, since 1955 the range has been protected by the Mount Babia National Park, in 1997 it was granted the status of UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
The following trails lead to the Mount Babia:
- The green trail, from Zawoja Markowa to the PTTK Markowe Szczawiny mountain hostel, approximately 1.5 hours.
- The red Main Beskid Trail from Markowe Szczawiny (the PTTK mountain hostel) to the peak of Mount Babia - Diablak through the Brona Pass (1408 m above sea level), about 2 hours.
- The yellow trail from Markowe Szczawiny (PTTK mountain hostel) - the so-called Perć Akademików on Mt. Diablak - the most difficult trail, it is recommended to move only upwards, and the return along a different route.
- The red trail from the Krowiarki Pass on the Diablak through Sokolica (1367 m), Kępa (1521 m).
