Jezioro Wigry

Jezioro Wigry dobrze znanym i lubianym wśród turystów jeziorem położonym w województwie podlaskim.

Znajduje się na obszarze Wigierskiego Parku Narodowego.

Powierzchnia jeziora wynosi około 2100 hektarów, głębokość średnia to ponad 15 m, a głębokość maksymalna to 74 m.

Pod względem głębokości Jezioro Wigry jest na 5 miejscu w kraju. Należy do grupy 10 największych jezior w Polsce.

Jezioro Wigry jest ważnym oparciem dla wielu gatunków ptaków. Aktualnie założyło tu gniazda co najmniej 85 gatunków ptaków, w tym 29 wodnych i wodno-błotnych, dlatego na jeziorze trzeba zachować strefę ciszy.

Jezioro możemy zwiedzać kajakiem lub żaglówką.

Jedynym pojazdem silnikowym, który w okresie letnim pojawia się na wodach Wigr jest statek wycieczkowy Tryton, który jednorazowo może zabrać na pokład 25 osób.

Wigry Lake
Lake Wigry is a channel lake located in Podlaskie Voivodeship popular among tourists.
It’s located in the area of the Wigry National Park.
The area of the lake is about 2100 hectares, the average depth is over 15 m, and the maximum depth is 74 m.
In terms of depth, Wigry Lake is on the 5th place in the country.
It belongs to the group of 10 largest lakes in Poland.
Wigry Lake is an important support for many bird species.
Currently, at least 85 species of birds, including 29 aquatic and wetland ones, have their nests here, therefore the silence zone must be maintained on the lake.
The lake can be explored by canoe or sailboat.
The only motor vehicle that appears on the waters of Wigry in the summer is the cruise ship Tryton, which can take 25 people on board at a time.
