Opis
Sanktuarium Krzyża Świętego w Krakowie-Mogile
Sanktuarium w Opactwie Cystersów w Krakowie Mogile powstało 800 lat temu. Czczony jest w nim gotycki krucyfiks Pana Jezusa Mogilskiego.
Biskup krakowski Iwo Odrowąż sprowadził cystersów z Lubiąża na Dolnym Śląsku do podkrakowskiej wsi Mogiła w 1222 roku.
Wkrótce zbudowano tu kamienno-ceglane opactwo z wczesnogotyckim kościołem Wniebowzięcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny i św. Wacława męczennika.
W XIII wieku opactwo spustoszyły napady Tatarów, a w XVII wieku najazd Szwedów.
Kościół zbudowano na planie krzyża łacińskiego w cysterskim stylu romańsko-gotyckim, z głównym ołtarzem skierowanym na wschód.
Świątynię konsekrowano w 1266 roku.
Brat Stanisław Samostrzelnik w latach 1536-1538 ściany prezbiterium i zakrystii pokrył freskami.
Malowidła w kaplicy Krzyża Świętego pochodzą z XVIII wieku.
W ołtarzu głównym widać poliptyk z 1514 roku ze statuą Matki Bożej z Dzieciątkiem.
Boczne ołtarze wykonano w XV wieku, stalle w XVIII wieku, a współczesne witraże w 1947 roku.
Sklepienie nawy głównej po pożarze w 1708 roku zostało odbudowane w stylu barokowym.
W 1780 roku przebudowano fasadę i kruchtę kościelną.
The
Sanctuary of the
Holy Cross in Cracow-Mogiła
The Sanctuary of the Holy Cross at the Cistercian
Abbey in Cracow-Mogiła was founded 800 years ago.
The Gothic
crucifix of Lord Jesus of Mogiła is venerated there.
The Bishop
of Cracow, Iwo Odrowąż, brought the Cistercians from Lubiąż in
Lower Silesia to the village of Mogiła near Cracow in 1222.
Soon
a stone and brick abbey was built here, with an early Gothic church
of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Wenceslas the
Martyr.
In the 13th century the abbey was ravaged by the
Tartars and in the 17th century by the Swedes.
The church was
built on a Latin cross plan in the Cistercian Romanesque-Gothic style
with the main altar facing east.
The temple was consecrated in
1266.
Brother Stanisław Samostrzelnik in the years 1536-1538
covered the walls of the chancel and the sacristy with frescoes.
The
paintings in the Chapel of the Holy Cross come from the 18th century.
The main altar contains a polyptych from 1514 with the statue
of the Mother of God and Child.
The side altars were made in
the 15th century, the stalls in the 18th century, and the modern
stained glass windows in 1947.
The vault of the nave was
rebuilt in Baroque style after the fire in 1708.
The facade
and the church porch were rebuilt in 1780.
Benefactors of the
monastery, monks and abbots are buried in the crypt at the entrance
to the Chapel of the Miraculous Lord Jesus.
Votive
offerings on the walls and grooves in the floor made by pilgrims
coming to the shrine on their knees bear witness to the long
tradition of its veneration.
The faithful come to the
Cistercian Abbey sanctuary also because of the relics of the Holy
Cross.
In the abbey you have to visit: the basilica with the
chapel of the Holy Cross, monastery cloisters, chapter house,
fraternity, abbey chapel and monastery gardens.
The main
celebrations at the sanctuary are held on September 14, the Feast of
the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
