Historia Rynku sięga XIII wieku, jest największym placem Krakowa i jednym z największych rynków w Europie. 

Na Rynku Głównym w Krakowie znajduje się  Muzeum Historyczne Miasta Krakowa i Międzynarodowe Centrum Kultury, renomowane sklepy oraz znane restauracje. 

Powstał w 1257 roku za czasów księcia Bolesława Wstydliwego.

Rynek był przed wiekami miejscem handlowym a także fragmentem drogi prowadzącej na Wawel.

Współcześnie wygląd Rynku Głównego w Krakowie odbiega od tego sprzed wieków.

History of the Market Square dates back to the 13th century, it is the largest square in Cracow and one of the largest markets in Europe. 

The Main Market Square in Cracow houses the Historical Museum of the City of Cracow and the International Cultural Centre, as well as renowned stores and restaurants. 

It was founded in 1257 during the reign of Prince Bolesław the Chaste.

Centuries ago, the Market Square was a trading place and also a part of the road leading to Wawel.

The present-day appearance of the Main Market Square in Cracow is different from that of centuries ago.

At the Market Square are located the most important buildings in Cracow, among them: St. Mary's Basilica, the Cloth Hall, St. Adalbert's Church and the City Hall Tower.
