Augustów
Augustów jest malowniczym miastem turystycznym, które swą atrakcyjność zawdzięcza położeniu wokół jezior i lasów.
Miejscowość zlokalizowana jest w zachodniej części Równiny Augustowskiej, nad rzeką Nettą pomiędzy siedmioma jeziorami: Necko, Białym, Rospuda Augustowska, Sajenek, Sajenko, Studzieniczne, Kalejty i Sajno.
Należy do województwa podlaskiego, siedziba powiatu augustowskiego i gminy wiejskiej Augustów.
Do XIII wieku tereny dzisiejszego miasta były zamieszkiwane przez plemię Jaćwingów, a pokonanych ostatecznie w 1283 roku przez Zakon Krzyżacki.
Do powstania miasta przyczynił się sam król Zygmunt II August.
17 maja 1557 r. Augustów otrzymał prawa miejskie magdeburskie.
Swoją nazwę miejscowość zawdzięcza swojemu założycielowi.
Podczas potopu szwedzkiego miasto zostało spalone przez Tatarów, a w czasie trzeciej wojny północnej (1700-1721) miejscową ludność dopadła epidemia dżumy. I i II wojna zniszczyła Augustów w 70 %.
Po wojnie zaczęto powoli odbudowywać miasto.
Okazało się również, że Augustów posiada walory wody zdrojowej i w 1968 roku dokonano pierwszych odwiertów głębinowych odkrywając pokłady.
Atrakcje w Augustowie
Augustów jest doskonałym miejscem na uprawianie turystyki aktywnej i sportów wodnych ze względu na ilość otaczających to miasto jezior.
Oczywiście na brzegu jezior znajdują się wypożyczalnie sprzętu wodnego, dlatego też bez problemu można skorzystać z rowerków, skuterów wodnych, kajaków, żaglówek.

Będąc w centrum miasta koniecznie trzeba wymienić Rynek Zygmunta Augusta, który jest centrum życia.
Miejsce przyciąga ze względu na liczną ilość restauracji, barów i kawiarenek. Kamienica przy Rynku Zygmunta Augusta 28 to jeden z najstarszych w pełni zachowanych budynków w Augustowie.
Każdy, kto choć raz pojawił się w Augustowie, powróci tu nie jeden raz.
Augustów

The town is located in the western part of the Augustów Plain, on the Netta River between seven lakes: Necko, White, Rospuda Augustowska, Sajenek, Sajenko, Studzieniczne, Kalejty and Sajno.
It belongs to Podlaskie Voivodeship, it is the seat of Augustów County and Augustów rural municipality.
Until the 13th century, the area of today's town was inhabited by the Jaćwings tribe, who were finally defeated in 1283 by the Teutonic Order.
King Zygmunt II August himself contributed to the establishment of the town.
On May 17, 1557, Augustów was granted Magdeburg municipal rights.
The city owes its name to its founder.
During the Swedish Deluge, the town was burnt down by the Tartars, and during the Third Northern War (1700-1721) the local population suffered from the plague.
The first and second wars destroyed 70% of Augustów.
After the war, the town started to be rebuilt slowly.
It turned out that Augustów possesses the qualities of a spa water and in 1968 the first deep boreholes were drilled and the water deposits were discovered.
